Native Apps for iOS and Android¶
Overview¶
Insight provides native mobile apps for iOS and Android that offer the full feature set and deep integration with device capabilities. The native apps are ideal for users who require complete offline functionality, native push notifications, and optimal performance.

Current App:
Legacy App:
- There is an older legacy version available (Insight Mobile v2). ⚠️ Do not use this version - please use the current app linked above.
Android¶
Google Play Store:
Direct Installation (APK/AAB Files):
For enterprise deployments, we provide APK and AAB files with each release:
- With Google Services: Includes native push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Without Google Services: For environments without Google Play Services or stricter privacy requirements
The installation files are available in our release packages.
Configuration¶
Mobile Device Management (MDM)¶
For enterprise deployments, the Insight app can be pre-configured using Mobile Device Management solutions. This allows administrators to:
- Pre-configure server URLs and connection settings
- Set default configurations
- Deploy apps with predefined settings to multiple devices

Push Notifications¶
- With Google Services: Native push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Without Google Services: Polling-based notification checking, if the app is running.
Updates¶
Automatic Updates¶
- iOS: Apps are automatically updated via the App Store (if enabled in settings)
- Android: Apps are automatically updated via Google Play Store (if enabled in settings)
Enterprise APK/AAB Updates¶
For enterprise deployments using APK/AAB files, updates must be distributed and installed manually or via MDM solutions.
